Amsterdam, Holland
Ronny and I arrived on June 26th and left on July 7th 2006
Amsterdam is the largest city in Holland/Netherlands. The weather was sunny and warm which made for pleasant outings while exploring this lovely city. Ronny was working during the day so we only explored together during the weekend. During the weeks; I went for several walks throughout the city, a canal cruise, visited the Van Gogh museum where 200 of his paintings are on display, and a full day of sight seeing with another wife who was also staying with her husband who works with Ronny.

I really like this picture because it shows several cool things about Amsterdam. You can see the bicycles parked, flowers decorating the windows of the houses, and small restaurants and cafes lining the canal streets. It is such a neat feeling along with the excellent sunny weather that gives the city an extra happy vibe.

Tor Erik and I during our tour of the Heineken Brewery. Ronny spread out the coasters for better scenery for the picture. Heineken, Heineken, Heineken. At the end of your tour, you get tokens to taste their beer.

Tor Erik and Ronny, July 1st, as we head out for a day of sight seeing. Erik is our old roommate who now lives, works, and rides his bike in Amsterdam.

This picture is neat because it shows the hooks that are on every house. The hooks are used to move things in and out of the house because the stairs are too steep and narrow which saves space. We haven't been to one yet, but you can see a coffee shop sign which is one of many throughout Amsterdam.

Instead of a car park, this entire parking facility is full of bicycles. It is one of my favorite parts of Amsterdam. Kids and babies are riding on the fronts and backs of the bicycle as one of their parents bike them to and fro. Instead of buying a "family car", they just adjust their bikes to hold extra people.
